                    <description><![CDATA[The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has assured the public that no military personnel will be deployed to polling stations during the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.  

In a statement dated December 1, 2024, and signed by the Director General of Public Relations, Brigadier General E. Aggrey-Quashie, GAF reaffirmed its dedication to peaceful elections. The statement clarified that the militarys role will be limited to standby support, with the Ghana Police Service (GPS) taking the lead in election security. Military deployment will occur only at the request of the GPS, ensuring the process remains orderly and peaceful.]]></description>

                    <description><![CDATA[The Ghana Police Service has resolved an issue involving a broken seal on a bag of electoral materials.  

The bag, containing ballot sheets and other materials, was being transported from Koforidua to a constituency in the Eastern Region when it was discovered to have an improperly secured seal. According to the police, the seal came off during the packing and unpacking process and was noticed while the bags were being moved from the armoury in Koforidua.]]></description>
