Nandom: Traditional Council Closed Down Mosque Over Leadership Dispute
Nandom Traditional Council orders closure of Central Mosque over leadership dispute between feuding factions
The Nandom Traditional Council in the Upper West Region has ordered the closure of the Nandom Central Mosque over leadership dispute between feuding factions.
According to the Nandom Traditional Council, the closure is as a result of rising tensions among feuding factions within the Central Mosque.
The rising tensions is due to disagreements over who should lead prayers in the Central Mosque. The decision was arrived after a consultation between the security Council and the Traditional Council.
The Central Mosque was physically locked by the Traditional Council in order to avert any clashes between the feuding factions.
