This editorial policy outlines our standards and expectations for contributors and guest authors to ensure professionalism, consistency, and editorial excellence.


Editorial Standards

We prioritize the following values in every submission:

  • Accuracy – All facts must be verified using credible and traceable sources.

  • Originality – Only unique, original content is accepted. AI-generated or plagiarized work will be rejected.

  • Clarity – Articles must be clearly written, logically structured, and free of grammatical or spelling errors.

  • Relevance – Content should align with our core themes: youth empowerment, education, innovation, social change, entrepreneurship, careers, and community development in Africa.

  • Respect & Integrity – Submissions must be inclusive and respectful, avoiding hate speech, misinformation, or discriminatory language.


Accepted Content Types

We encourage submissions in the following formats:

  • How-To Guides

  • Listicles

  • Opinion Pieces

  • Case Studies

  • Personal Stories

  • Profiles & Interviews

  • Educational Articles

  • Career & Skill Guides

  • Youth-Led Project Features


Title Guidelines

  • Length: 10–20 words

  • Content: Must include at least one primary keyword

  • Style: Clear, compelling, and reflective of the article’s content


Content Structure

  • Word Count: 1,200–1,600 words

  • Introduction: 1–2 paragraphs, including a hook and keyword

  • Body: 6–12 paragraphs with subheadings, bullet points, and contextual links

  • Conclusion: 1 paragraph summarizing the article with a call to action

  • Paragraphs: Each should be 3–6 sentences

Best Practices:

  • Use short sentences and plain language

  • Incorporate internal links to relevant articles on thehubweb.com

  • Use external links only from reputable sources


Grammar & Language

  • Articles must be error-free and professionally written

  • Use tools like Grammarly or Hemingway Editor

  • Maintain a conversational, respectful, and informative tone


Image Guidelines

  • Formats: WebP (preferred), JPEG, PNG

  • Size: 1200px width, 3:2 ratio, under 100KB

  • Alt Text: 2–6 descriptive, keyword-friendly words

  • Quality: High-resolution only; no watermarked images unless owned by contributor


Metadata Requirements

  • Summary / Description:
    20–60 words, concise, keyword-rich

  • Keywords:
    1–3 words each, total of 1–5 (no keyword stuffing)

  • Tags:
    1–5 tags, each 1–3 words


File Attachments (if applicable)

  • Format: PDF only (for downloadable resources)

  • Size: Under 5MB

  • Hosting: Google Drive (preferred)

  • Naming Convention: Use 2–6 descriptive words for file names


Review & Approval Timeline

  • Articles are usually reviewed within 30 minutes to 1 hour

  • Contributors who consistently meet all editorial standards may be granted pre-approval status, enabling faster publication with minimal revisions


Common Reasons for Rejection

To avoid rejection, ensure your submission does not contain:

  • Fewer than 400 words

  • Copied or AI-generated content

  • Poor grammar or excessive spelling errors

  • Low-quality or unrelated images

  • Excessive promotional language or affiliate-heavy content

  • Missing formatting or metadata
