AAUW Career Development Grant for Women in STEM

The AAUW Career Development Grant is the opportunity you might have been waiting on. AAUW is designed to support women who already hold a bachelor's degree and are ready to take the next step toward professional certifications that are related to STEM and leadership development.

WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY FOR THIS GRANT

The grant is funded by the American Association of University Women (AAUW), an organisation with a long history of empowering women through education and leadership. Given the global demand for diverse professionals in STEM, women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, education, business and the social sciences are especially encouraged to apply.

Women are greatly underrepresented when it comes to STEM. This grant supports professionals seeking certifications to advance their careers by breaking societal and financial barriers.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR THIS GRANT

To be considered eligible, applicants must:

• Be permanent residents in the U.S or be U.S citizens.
• Hold a bachelor's degree earned on or before June 30, 2017( for most programs).
• Be preparing to advance or change careers through further study in STEM, education, health and other related fields.
• Demonstrate financial need and commitment to career development .

WHAT THE GRANT COVERS

Grant amount range from $2,000 to $20,000, covering:

• Tuition
• Books
• Childcare 
• Travel
• Dependent care

This makes it useful, especially, for women balancing education with family or professional responsibilities.

APPLICATION TIMELINES

The next cycle of applications open in August 2025 for the 2026 academic year.

Applicants are encouraged to prepare early by gathering transcripts, references and a strong personal statement.
