Because of population growth, global warming, and water pollution due to industrialization, the shortage of fresh water is becoming a serious concern in many househols in Ghana.
Nevertheless, Engineer Emmanuel Cudjoe who is the Part & Process Coordinator at Liebherr Ghana Limited at Goldfields Tarkwa mine, has charged the government of Ghana to look at the sea, which hold the highest percentage of water on our planet.
According to Engineer Emmanuel Cudjoe, Numerous countries globally rely on seawater desalination (converting saltwater into fresh, potable water via reverse osmosis) to meet their domestic water needs.
"This nation had faced severe natural freshwater scarcity and have made massive technological investments to ensure a reliable water supply for it citizens" he stated.
"Countries like Israel, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Spain and others have undisputedly globally lead in desalination technology, through their university projects produced nearly 97% of its domestic municipal water from the Sea water". He added.
Engineer Emmanuel Cudjoe lastly pleaded with the government of Ghana to take same steps to avoid shortage of water usage in the country.
