Nkoranza North MP initiates Self-Funds Electricity for more than 8 Communities to lighting up his Constituency

The Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North Constituency in the Bono East Region, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah has begun connecting several communities to the national electricity grid through self-funding.

According to Hon. Mensah, some communities in the constituency have never had electricity since their establishment, while others have not received any grid extension since 1998, despite surrounding areas being connected.

He said the initiative is critical for improving healthcare delivery, education, and supporting local businesses.

Communities receiving such initiative includes

BONO MANSO, DWENEWOHO, ASUOTI, KRANKA, SIKAA, BAAFI, ANAFUOR, ABIREKYIREKROM  and ASANTEHENE FARMS

Speaking to the media during a visit to contractors in some of the communities, Hon. Mensah noted that most parts of the Nkoranza North are still without power, and he is committed to connecting more areas to the grid.

"I received numerous concerns from constituents urging me to do more on electricity. I’ve already taken steps, and I want to see more areas connected to the national grid, not just for domestic use but also to power businesses and economic ventures. " Hon. Mensah said.

"I’m paying for all construction costs, except the materials which were provided by the government, as part of my efforts to connect these communities to the National Electricity Grid," he added.

"I remain committed to ensuring that every corner of the Nkoranza North Constituency enjoys the full benefits of development. Together, we are lighting up our communities and building a brighter future for all," the lawmaker stated.

The District Chief Executive for Nkoranza North, Hon. Effah Patrick expressed gratitude to the MP for his selfless efforts to address the constituency’s challenges.

He urged constituents to remain hopeful for more developmental projects in the area and to continue praying for the President, the MP, and himself as DCE.
