Traders, Busines owners and residents of Bibiani Kwamekrom and Koohan Hotel New Site, in the Bibiani Anwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western Northern Region are crying bitterly over lack of mobile network connectivity collapsing their business, an issue they say is disrupting their daily lives, economic activities, and access to essential services.

Community members often have to gather under a specific tree in search of a signal, making private conversations nearly impossible. Network have become essential to everyday life. From communication and business to learning and emergency response, mobile connectivity plays a critical role.

In an interview with Asona Dehyie Kwateng,Frustrated business owners and some residents expressed bitterly that accessing network service often requires them to converge at a particular spot, collapsing their business. Some residents shared how this situation affects them, especially during emergencies like fire outbreaks or childbirth, when contacting health personnel becomes a daunting task.

“We are seriously facing challenges here. we struggle to make calls. We are pleading for help,” he stated. 

Nana Abu Gyaabeng, chief executive officer (CEO) of Koohan Hotel, highlighted the challenges faced by the community and their business. He appealed to the government and telecommunication companies to intervene.

“We, the people of Koohan Hotel New-site, are facing a serious challenge with the mobile network collapsing our business.* he ended.
