Speaking at the launch, Prof. Ahmed Agyapong, Dean of the School of Business, emphasized that the initiative is a strategic investment in students’ futures. He noted that while many graduates excel academically, they often lack the digital proficiency required to thrive in modern workplaces. The lab, he explained, bridges this gap by preparing students to become job creators rather than mere job seekers.

The facility will provide hands-on training in artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital marketing, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and entrepreneurship. According to Dr. John Serbe Marfo, Coordinator of the project, the lab is envisioned as a hub for practical learning, innovation, and collaboration.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Asare-Nkansah highlighted that digital skills are indispensable for leadership and employability in the 21st century. He added that the lab aligns with KNUST’s broader digital transformation agenda, ensuring graduates leave with both academic qualifications and industry-relevant expertise.
