RTF and HHF Explore Strategic Partnerships with Danish Embassy to Advance Community Development

Rainbow Trust Foundation (RTF) and Heritage Hands Foundation (HHF) have held strategic discussions with the Economic Diplomacy Team of the Embassy of Denmark in Ghana to explore potential partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable development and improving livelihoods in underserved communities.

The meeting, held on Monday, 19 October 2026, at the Danish Embassy in Accra, brought together a delegation from the two foundations, led by Nkosuohemaa Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare I, Development Queen Mother for the Oseawuo Division of Okyeman, and the Embassy's Economic Diplomacy Team, headed by Mr. Jørgen Bollesen, Head of Economic Diplomacy.

During the engagement, Mr. Bollesen welcomed the delegation and identified healthcare, agriculture, sanitation, mining and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as potential areas of collaboration. He expressed the team's interest in further exploring opportunities for cooperation with the two foundations in these sectors.

Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare I, who is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rainbow Trust Foundation and Founder and President of Heritage Hands Foundation, highlighted the organisations' commitment to improving access to education, empowering women and young people, promoting environmental sustainability and addressing critical development challenges in underserved communities.

Building on Existing Development Achievements

The discussions provided an opportunity to highlight the foundations' contributions to community development, including Rainbow Trust Foundation's successful partnership with Denmark's Poul Due Jensen Foundation (Grundfos Foundation).

The collaboration culminated in the commissioning of two state-of-the-art solar-powered mechanised water facilities at the University of Ghana on 30 September 2026. The facilities, located at the Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin Hotspot Comfort Zone and the Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Studies, demonstrate the potential of international partnerships to deliver sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Beyond water and sanitation, Rainbow Trust Foundation continues to promote literacy and equitable access to education through school library development, book distribution, reading clinics and other educational interventions targeting disadvantaged communities.

Heritage Hands Foundation has also contributed to community development through initiatives aimed at improving sanitation, education and livelihoods. Notably, the foundation constructed a modern six-seater toilet facility with a mechanised borehole at Ningo-Ahwiam D/A Basic School, improving access to essential sanitation and water infrastructure.

Strengthening Traditional Leadership and Community Empowerment

A key priority discussed was the potential to strengthen the capacity of Queen Mothers to serve as advocates for peace, responsible mining practices and environmental protection.

Through its traditional leadership networks, HHF seeks to equip Queen Mothers with knowledge and practical skills in conflict resolution, community mobilisation, environmental conservation and responsible natural resource management, particularly in communities affected by illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey.

The foundations also highlighted opportunities to expand vocational skills training for young people, promote sustainable livelihoods, empower women and girls, and support community-based environmental initiatives.

Turning Dialogue into Sustainable Development Partnerships

The engagement underscored the shared interest in exploring practical partnerships that combine Danish expertise, innovation and technical knowledge with the foundations' grassroots experience and established community networks.

RTF and HHF expressed optimism about continued engagement with the Embassy's Economic Diplomacy Team to identify viable areas of cooperation and develop initiatives that address pressing community needs.

Building on their demonstrated achievements, the two foundations are calling on Danish businesses, development institutions, philanthropic organisations and other international partners to join forces in transforming these discussions into concrete, measurable and sustainable development interventions.

The foundations are particularly seeking strategic partnerships that provide technical expertise, innovative technologies, capacity development, institutional support and sustainable financing to expand their impact in education, healthcare, sanitation, responsible mining, environmental protection and vocational skills development.

With established community networks, experience in implementing development projects and strong traditional leadership connections, RTF and HHF offer prospective partners a valuable platform for reaching underserved populations and delivering interventions that respond directly to local needs.

The foundations reaffirmed their readiness to work with the Danish Embassy and prospective development partners to translate shared priorities into actionable projects, strengthen local capacities and create lasting opportunities for communities across Ghana.

The meeting represents an important step towards deepening Ghana–Denmark development cooperation, with RTF and HHF seeking to serve as trusted local partners in advancing inclusive growth, environmental sustainability and community transformation.
