Hajj 2026: FCT Pilgrims Board Calls for Early Registration, Sets ₦8.5m Deposit

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of registration for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
According to the Board, applicants are required to make a minimum deposit of ₦8.5 million to secure their slots for the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The Board noted that early registration would help intending pilgrims adequately prepare for the journey while also enabling authorities to make proper arrangements for accommodation, feeding, and transportation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Director of the FCT Pilgrims Welfare Board emphasized that the registration process is open to all Muslims in the territory who meet the necessary requirements. He also assured that transparency and fairness would be upheld throughout the exercise.
The announcement comes amid rising costs of Hajj due to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates and inflation. However, the Board urged interested applicants to commence payment early to avoid last-minute rush and possible hike in costs.
