Hawa Koomson Admits Using Pepper Spray in Alekuma North Chaos, Cites Self-Defense
Former MP for Awutu Senya East, Hawa Koomson has stated that she used pepper spray as defense to avoid further attack on her during the Parliament election rerun at Ablekuma North.

Former Member of parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hawa Koomson has admitted using pepper spray during the chaos at Alekuma North parliamentary rerun last Friday, saying it was a means as self defense during her attack.
A video went viral showing a group of men assaulting her during an ongoing election at the St Peter's Methodist church polling station.
In an interview after the incident on UTV, On Tuesday July15, 2025, Hawa koomson debunked claims that she had not gone to the polling center to cause trouble.
"I did not go there to cause trouble".Adding that "The claims that I went there with ill intentions and carried pepper spray for that purpose are unfounded ".
She stands by her claim that she only used the pepper as her self defense because her security guards were not allowed entry into the polling center by the police.
