Tragedy in Abuja: 23-Year-Old Grace Godwin Abducted and Killed by One-Chance Operators
Grace Godwin, a 23-year-old filling station attendant, was abducted and killed by suspected "one-chance" criminals in Jabi, Abuja, after boarding a fake commercial vehicle on her way home from work. Despite a ₦1 million ransom demand, her body was found the next morning. Her family has dismissed false claims of ritual involvement, confirming she was simply returning from work.

On Friday, July 11, 2025, 23-year-old Grace Godwin, also known as Ilewa, was abducted and killed by suspected "one-chance" operators in the Jabi area of Abuja, Nigeria.
Grace, a native of Agatu Local Government Area in Benue State, worked as a filling station attendant in Abuja. She was reportedly on her way home from work when she boarded a vehicle, unaware that it was operated by criminals posing as commercial transporters.
According to reports, the kidnappers robbed her and contacted her family, demanding a ransom of ₦1 million for her release. Tragically, despite the demand, Grace was killed and her body was dumped by the roadside in Jabi.
Her remains were discovered early the next morning, around 6:00 a.m. Police were alerted and rushed her to a hospital, but she was confirmed dead on arrival.
In the wake of the incident, false narratives began circulating on social media, suggesting she had gone for a hookup and was used for ritual purposes. However, her family and friends have firmly refuted these claims, clarifying that she was returning from work at the time of the incident.
