Mr. Eazi claims He Coined the 'Detty December' Phrase
Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade popularly known as Mr. Eazi, who turned heads with his wedding to the love of his life in 2025, has claimed he coined the 'Detty December' phrase.
The 'Detty December' phrase which has become very common all over the world during Christmas holidays, he says was coined by him.
Speaking recently at his Detty Rave Concert in Accra, Mr. Eazi claimed he coined the phrase when he worked as a promoter in Ghana.
He went further to admit that, the phrase is bigger than any individual or himself.
"While working as a show promoter with my friends, I suggested that we call our December event 'Detty December.' Hashtag Detty December. So, in 2016, me and my guys counted Detty December. It is all about going back to your roots, having fun and enjoying life intentionally. He said.
In 2019, Nigerian Entrepreneur and wife of musician Darey Art Alade known as Deola Art Alade secured a legal trademark for Detty December and this didn't go down well with moat people.
Regardless, it is clear that 'Detty December' has come to stay and will be around for a long time.
