INTERPOL Removes Ofori Atta's Name From Red Notice
Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta

The International Police Organization(INTERPOL) has removed the name of former finance minister Ken Ofori Atta from its red notice list.

The decision to remove Ken Ofori Atta's name is because, at the time the Office of special prosecuter (OSP) submitted his name to INTERPOL to be declared wanted, there was no charge against Mr. Ken Ofori Atta.

The lawyers of Mr. Ken Ofori Atta are on record to have complained to INTERPOL that, the decision by the OSP to declare him wanted breached the rules of INTERPOL.

In June 2025, the OSP declared Ken Ofori Atta wanted and a fugitive of justice and submitted his name to be added to red notice list of INTERPOL.

The name of Ken Ofori Atta was removed from the red notice alert by INTERPOL on Tuesday after the OSP formally charged him together with others.
