Troops Neutralise Three Terrorists in Borno During Joint Clearance Operation

Troops of Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully neutralised three Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents during a long-range clearance patrol in Borno State.
The coordinated offensive, which extended deep into the Bulabulin forest axis toward Magumeri, culminated in a fierce gun battle around the Borno Yesu general area. According to military sources, the operation received critical support from the air component of OPHK, which provided real-time surveillance and close air support, enabling ground forces to decisively overrun the terrorist stronghold.
“At the end of the engagement, three terrorists were neutralised. Troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, four loaded magazines, 120 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, grenades, two bandoliers, combat packs, and two brand-new motorcycles,” a security source confirmed.
The source further noted that the Special Forces Tactical Team has continued to dominate the area, conducting follow-on operations to disrupt terrorist logistics, deny freedom of movement, and maintain security pressure across the region.
Troops were reported to be in high spirits, with morale and combat readiness remaining high as clearance operations continue across key flashpoints in the North-East.
The Nigerian military has intensified counterinsurgency efforts in recent months, with the objective of restoring normalcy, degrading terrorist capabilities, and facilitating the safe return of displaced communities to their ancestral homes.
