Blessing CEO Confirms Arrest of Partner IVD at Lagos Airport Amid Ongoing Manslaughter Trial

Relationship expert and media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has confirmed the arrest of her partner, renowned auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna (IVD), by officials of the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
The arrest occurred on Friday, August 1, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, as IVD prepared to board a flight to Qatar alongside Blessing. According to reports, the arrest is linked to his ongoing court trial concerning the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
Unverified sources allege that a travel ban was issued against IVD, prohibiting him from leaving Nigeria until the legal proceedings are concluded. The Lagos State Government had earlier charged him with one count of involuntary manslaughter in suit No. LD/21055C/23.
Bimbo Ogbonna died under controversial circumstances in October 2022, following a fire incident at the couple’s Lagos residence. Allegations of domestic violence have surrounded the case, drawing significant public and media attention.
In a statement released via her Instagram page, Blessing CEO defended her partner, stating that there was no court-imposed travel restriction and describing the arrest as unjust.
“There is no travel ban on him. If there were, he would never have proceeded with travel plans or made them public. IVD is being bullied and intimidated,” she said.
The case continues to generate widespread interest, highlighting ongoing concerns around domestic violence, judicial transparency, and the intersection of public opinion with legal proceedings.
