GTEC Writes To Gomoa East MP Over Unearned Tittle
The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has written to the MP for Gomoa East constituency over the use of Doctorial title.

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has written to the member of Parliament for Gomoa East constituency over the use of doctorial tittle.
According to a letter from GTEC, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa East constituency Hon. Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor use of the title Dr. raises concern as the title is unearned.
GTEC further indicate that, the use of the doctorial title whether conferred by institutions in Ghana or abroad must be verified and earned.
The letter from GTEC directed the member of Parliament must submit verifiable evidence including academic documents to GTEC for verification. She has been directed to cease using the doctorial title.
This is the second public official who has been directed to cease the use of the doctorial title by GTEC after the Chief Executive Officer GIFFEC received similar directives over the use of unearned doctorial tittle.
