The NPP minority side of Parliament have staged a walk to the police headquarters over delayed election results declaration for the Ablekuma North Parliamentary election.

Minority Storms Police Headquarters Over Ablekuma North Election Results

Minority MPs in Parliament have today march to the Police headquarters in Accra to demand the security protection for the electoral Commission to declare the delayed Parliament election results for Ablekuma North constituency. 

The NPP MPs who march from Parliament House to the police headquarters presented a petition to the IGP asking him to provide security for the electoral Commission to conclude the declaration of results for the Ablekuma North Parliamentary election results. 

The MPs were joined by the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Ablekuma North constituency, Nana Akua Afriyie.

The Ablekuma North Parliamentary seat remains without a member of Parliament after the December elections due disagreement on who won the seat in the December 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. 

Both the NDC and the NPP have claimed victory in the disputed Parliamentary election results amid legal actions from both parties in the law Court. 

The Global Fund last time the electoral Commission attempted to declare the winner of the Ablekuma North Parliamentary election results as ordered by the High Court, some thugs disrupted the process and destroyed equipments at the collation centre. 

For the Minority NPP side, the NPP candidate won the election and that is why the NDC is not willing to allow the electoral Commission to declare the winner of the election.
