Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, has expressed strong confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s capacity to provide credible, visionary, and transformational leadership during his current tenure.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s “The Point of View” with Bernard Avle on Monday, July 7, the respected cleric praised President Mahama’s renewed approach to governance, describing him as a selfless leader with a deep commitment to Ghana’s progress.

“He has been here before. He has learned from his past mistakes, and he has come back with a drive, passion, and determination to make a difference and go down in history as one who walked and came back with a difference,” the Archbishop said.

In a broader reflection on governance across the African continent, Archbishop Duncan-Williams lamented the lack of progress in many African countries, despite their natural wealth.

“When you look at some of the crises on our continent, it just doesn’t make sense. With all our gold, oil, and cocoa, there’s no reason why Ghana and Africa shouldn’t thrive,” he stated.

He added that the continent needs leaders who put people above personal gain, stressing that Ghana’s development hinges on visionary and ethical governance.

The Archbishop underscored that Mahama’s return to office is backed by valuable lessons from his previous term, which equips him to address current national challenges more effectively.

“He’s come back with purpose. He is not just returning to power but to serve — and that makes all the difference,” he noted.

His remarks come at a time when Ghanaians are looking to leadership for stability, economic recovery, and inclusivity. The Archbishop’s public endorsement not only reflects a faith-based perspective on governance but also adds to the growing national conversation around leadership renewal and accountability.
