NPP Bans Campaign Materials Ahead of 2025 Delegates Conference

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has placed a total ban on all campaign-related materials ahead of its highly anticipated 2025 National Annual Delegates Conference, scheduled for Saturday, 19 July, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Announcing the decision at a press briefing on Saturday, 12 July, Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Joseph Osei-Owusu, said the move was necessary to maintain order, neutrality, and unity among delegates.

“There shall be no billboards, banners, posters, flyers, T-shirts, or souvenirs with aspirant branding allowed at the venue or within Accra,” Mr Osei-Owusu stated. He emphasised that the directive is part of broader efforts to create a level playing field during the conference, which is expected to draw thousands of party delegates nationwide.

He stressed that a “complete ban has been placed on all forms of campaign activities” before, during, and after the conference. This restriction will be enforced throughout the entire precinct of the venue.

To ensure full compliance, the party has formed a dedicated grounds and operations team, supported by compliance monitors who will patrol the stadium and its surroundings. The taskforce has been mandated to remove and destroy any unauthorised campaign material found in the area.

“All such prohibited campaign materials shall be removed and destroyed by the team,” Mr Osei-Owusu warned. “There will be no exceptions to this rule.”

The NPP’s move signals a strong commitment to fostering internal cohesion and promoting strategic dialogue over partisan display as the party prepares for key decisions ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The 2025 conference is expected to shape the future of the party, with discussions likely to centre on policy directions, leadership strategies, and party reforms.

By placing a strict ban on campaign paraphernalia, the NPP aims to create an atmosphere focused on party unity and strategic progress rather than individual ambition.
