Thousands of Arsenal supporters have signed an online petition opposing the club’s reported interest in Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.

The 23-year-old has recently surfaced as a surprise transfer target for Mikel Arteta, who is looking to bolster his attacking depth ahead of the new season. Reports indicate Arsenal have already submitted a £50 million bid and agreed personal terms with the England international.

Club officials, after consulting individuals familiar with Madueke’s character and work ethic, are said to be confident in his potential. But a section of the fan base sees the move differently.

According to The Mirror, a fan identified as Blaze Fifty launched a petition on Change.org tagged #NOTOMADUEKE, which has gathered over 2,000 signatures since Wednesday.

In the petition, Blaze Fifty wrote:

> “Arsenal fans deserve better. We are so close to success, yet rather than building on our strong squad, the club seems to be repeating past mistakes from previous transfer windows.

We can aim higher than Madueke and [Viktor] Gyokeres. Show real ambition—reward the loyal fans who have stood by the club for the past 20 years.”

While some Arsenal fans rallied behind the petition, others—along with rival fans—criticized it. One fan on X wrote, “They could be supporters from any club. A real Arsenal fan would trust the club’s decisions.”

Another commented, “This is the same group begging for a Bukayo Saka backup. Now they’re rejecting a talented young winger? What top player would even agree to be second-choice?”

Even some Arsenal supporters expressed shame over the backlash. “Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. We’re truly the most toxic fan base sometimes,” one person admitted.

Meanwhile, Madueke is currently in the United States with Chelsea, participating in the FIFA Club World Cup. The Blues will take on European champions Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, hoping to claim their second title in the competition.
