When the Ghanaian electro-mechanical engineering company Anointed Engineering Services Ltd., which specializes in Perkins Diesel Generators, donated a "Borla Macho III" tricycle to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in support of the city's sanitation improvement initiative, the mayor made this statement.

The company claims that the donation, which was made on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the forecourt of the AMA Head Office near Kinbu, is a component of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that support sustainable development and environmental hygiene in Accra.
The tricycle is a "game changer" in waste management, especially in remote parts of the city, according to Mr. Samuel Adjei Boateng, Managing Director of Anointed Engineering Services Limited, who spoke at the event.
“This morning we are here not to sell a generator but to donate our special product, the Borla Macho III, to the AMA… It’s a one-man-operated tricycle with a hydraulic system that lifts and empties bins, compresses waste internally, and tips at dumping sites without manual contact. It’s the perfect tool for urban sanitation, and we believe, as the city improves with the vision of the AMA; this product can help bring sanity into our sanitation system,” he stated.”

Muntaka calls on Ghanaians to assist the government in preserving peace and security.
We are here this morning to give the AMA our unique product, the Borla Macho III, rather than to sell a generator. With the help of a hydraulic system, this one-man tricycle can lift and empty bins, compress waste inside, and tip at disposal locations without the need for human interaction. It's the ideal instrument for urban sanitation, and we think that as the city develops in line with the AMA's vision, this product can contribute to the sanity of our sanitation system," he said.
Mr. Boateng said the donation was a tribute to Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey's vision of a cleaner capital and expressed admiration for the sanitation reforms he led.
In accepting the donation on behalf of the Assembly, Mayor Allotey emphasized the impact the donation would have on continuing sanitation operations while expressing sincere gratitude for Anointed Engineering Services' support.
"We want to start by saying how much we appreciate Anointed Engineering considering the AMA. The women who sweep the streets every day will greatly benefit from this, as there is a great deal of work to be done. We are appreciative of Anointed Engineering, and I pray and hope that our partnership will endure. "There are bigger and better things ahead; this is just the beginning," he said.
"This will be really helpful because we're going to begin the 24-hour cleanup, and this is just a beginning point," he continued. To find out how we can assist them in producing more of these machines, we will continue to work with them," he stated.
"We are urging Corporate Ghana to join us. Cleaning Accra is a team effort, and Anointed Engineering is not the only company that can assist. To continue the reset we've begun in Accra, we need everyone to support us. "May you and Anointed Engineering be blessed," he continued.
In addition to giving a technical overview of the Borla Macho III tricycle and outlining its operational advantages over conventional waste collection methods, AMA's Director of Waste Management, Ing. Solomon Noi, emphasized that the tricycle would be especially helpful in low-income and densely populated urban communities where accessibility is a problem. With a 5-cubic-meter volume capacity, this machine can move roughly 2 metric tons per trip. It has 240- and 120-liter bin systems that can compress and lift waste hydraulically, eliminating the need for repeated trips and minimizing physical contact with trash. Our goals are to increase coverage, enhance hygiene, and decrease waste contact. We will suggest expanding it to the three sub-metros and other municipal assemblies if this pilot proves effective," he stated.
