67 NPP MPs Visits Bawumia To Endorse His Candidature

67 Members of Parliament from the NPP side in Parliament have visited former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to declare their support for him to lead the party in the 2028 general election as flagbearer.

67 NPP members of Parliament have this morning visited the 2024 flagbearer of the party and former Vice President. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at his office to declare their support for him to lead the party as flagbearer for the 2028 general elections. 

In an interview with the media, member of Parliament for Akuapem North Constituency, Sammy Awuku indicated that, the Members of Parliament visited Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to declare their in flinching support for him to lead the party in to the 2028 general election.

This comes barely two days after the National Executive Council (NEC) and the National Council agreed to have an early presidential elections in January 2026.

Even though Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is seen by many as the favourite candidate for the Flagbearership race, a number persons have declared their intention to contest for the position. 

Some notable candidates include, Kennedy Agyapong, Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum among others. In the last presidential primaries, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won the race followed by Kenedy Agyapong. 

The party will hold a National Delegates Conference in July this year to consider some constitutional amendments and other important decisions before the primaries in January.
