Anambra State Vows Justice After Corps Member Assault
The Anambra State Government has strongly condemned the assault on a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, identified as Jennifer Elobor, who was reportedly attacked by operatives of a state-backed security outfit.
According to reports, the incident sparked outrage both online and offline, with many Nigerians demanding justice and better protection for corps members serving across the country.
In response, the Anambra State authorities confirmed that the operatives involved have been arrested and will face disciplinary actions. The government also reassured the public that it remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of corps members serving within the state.
Meanwhile, several advocacy groups have called on the National Youth Service Corps management to collaborate with state governments in ensuring that corps members are not subjected to harassment, intimidation, or violence while carrying out their mandatory service year.
