Kyiv, Ukraine – At least four people have been confirmed dead following a deadly overnight missile and drone strike on Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

Posting on social media, Klymenko revealed that the attack hit multiple civilian targets, including residential areas, hospitals, and sports facilities. A large section of a high-rise apartment building in the Shevchenkivskyi district was reportedly destroyed, with some residents believed to be trapped under rubble.

In the surrounding Kyiv region, regional head Mykola Kalashnyk confirmed one woman was killed and two others injured in separate explosions.

Children and Pregnant Woman Among the Injured

Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported that 13 people were injured in the Kyiv strike, including two children and a pregnant woman. The agency released dramatic footage showing emergency crews evacuating residents from burning buildings and collapsed structures.

One entrance to a Kyiv metro station was also damaged during the attack. Many city residents reportedly spent the night underground in subway stations for protection.

Local officials said multiple fires were still burning across various parts of the city by morning.

No Comment Yet from Russian Authorities

The Russian military has not issued an official statement on the latest strike.

The attack adds to a recent surge in intensified air raids on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, part of a broader escalation in the ongoing conflict that began with Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
