Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His exit follows his recent alignment with members of a coalition group that adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the platform to challenge and unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general elections.

In his resignation letter, Atiku cited the PDP’s current direction as the reason for his departure, stating that the party has strayed from the core principles and values it once upheld.
