Liverpool Secure £79m Signing of Eintracht Frankfurt Striker Hugo Ekitike

Premier League champions Liverpool have finalized the transfer of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike in a deal valued at £79m (€91m). The agreement includes an initial fee of £69m (€80m) and up to £10m (€12.5m) in performance-related add-ons, pushing Liverpool’s summer transfer expenditure close to £300m.
The 23-year-old French forward, who underwent a successful medical and agreed personal terms, is set to join his new teammates in Hong Kong within the next 48 hours for pre-season training ahead of Liverpool’s friendly against AC Milan on Saturday.
A Liverpool FC statement confirmed: “The club has reached an agreement for the transfer of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, pending international clearance.”
Ekitike, who scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in his sole full season at Frankfurt, aiding their Champions League qualification, becomes Liverpool’s seventh signing this transfer window.
He joins Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and goalkeepers Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman. While primarily a central striker, Liverpool view the former Paris Saint-Germain player as versatile enough to play as a second striker or on the wings.
