Nigeria's Emergency Evacuation Plans Amidst Israel-Iran Conflict

The Nigerian government has announced it is working on emergency plans to evacuate citizens stuck in Israel and Iran. These efforts come as fighting between the two countries worsens.  

Call for Citizens Registration and Safety

In a statement on Tuesday, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the spokesperson for Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, called on affected Nigerians to quickly reach out to the nearest Nigerian embassy or mission. Citizens are urged to register and follow security instructions.  

The ministry praised the efforts of Nigeria’s embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran. They are actively engaging with communities in these difficult times.  

Diplomatic Effort and International Collaboration 

The government also confirmed that it is cooperating closely with global partners and local authorities. This collaboration aims to make sure the evacuations happen safely and on time.  

Nigeria has expressed its support for peace and called for an end to the fighting. The government asked all sides to stop Hostilities and seek peace through dialogue. They emphasized the importance of respecting international laws and protecting civilians.  

The official statement included these words: "The Foreign Affairs Ministry wants to inform that, due to the worsening crisis between Israel and Iran, Nigeria is finalizing plans to evacuate its citizens in both countries."  

“All Nigerians affected are advised to follow safety rules and contact their local embassy for registration and updates,” it said.  

The ministry also praised the efforts of Nigeria’s missions in Tel Aviv and Tehran for their dedication. They are committed to helping their communities during this time of crisis.
