Ramayana vs Godzilla Minus Zero: A Global Box Office Clash Is Coming
The winter box office is heating up as India's biggest film, The Ramayana, is set to clash with Japan's Godzilla Minus Zero on November 6, 2026. With massive budgets, global releases, and strong audiences in key markets, both films are entering one of the most anticipated box office battles between Indian and Japanese cinema. But which film will come out on top?
The winter is coming with peak heat, as a box office clash between Dune Three and Avengers: Doomsday is expected. But the recently announced Godzilla Minus Zero has set up another matchup, where India’s biggest film, The Ramayana, will clash with the Japanese epic Godzilla Minus Zero. This clash is between two generational projects.
The Ramayana itself is an epic, with a record-breaking 4,000 crore budget for two parts. The estimated budget for The Ramayana Part 1 is around 800 to 835 crores. This film is going to be released on November 6th, 2026. This film is being released in two parts. To be a hit film, it simply needs to collect a bare minimum of 1,200 to 1,500 crores. This is, to some extent, possible, as 10 films have made over 1,000 crores.

At the start, it was quite simply a run for The Ramayana, with no big clash and a pan-global release. But all of a sudden, an anticipated sequel was announced: Godzilla Minus Zero, which is the second installment of Godzilla Minus One. The first part made a staggering 116 million USD, while in rupees, it is about 920 crores.
Now, the direct clash between The Ramayana and Godzilla Minus Zero will impact both sides. In terms of Godzilla Minus Zero, the recovery is not that tough because the budget of this film is limited to up to 15 million. The film’s first project was made for 10 million. The biggest upper hand this project has is that it has already built an audience in the Western world, especially in the United States. But in the States, The Ramayana also has a massive edge, as Sony Entertainment is releasing it.

On the global stage, it will be a massive clash. For a few reasons, Godzilla Minus Zero has a good chance, but in a few big markets like India, it will not get preference. Overall, it will be a massive box office clash between two industry breakouts. Let’s see which film will win this box office clash.
