Security Situation In Bawku Escalate As 3 Students Killed

The security situation in Bawku appears to be escalating to various parts of the Country as more lives are being lost through the unending conflict between two tribes. 

The latest deaths connected to the conflict is the killing of 3 students on Saturday night in Bawku and Nalerigu. 

According to various media reports, one student of the Bawku Senior High school was killed on Saturday night and two other students of the Nalerigu Senior High school were also killed on the same night. 

Even though, the police are yet to conclude investigations into the motives behind the latest deaths of the students, many have linked it to the ongoing conflict between the Mamprusi and the Kusasi. 

Earlier in the Week, a Kusasi chief was murdered in the Asawaase area and another was shot dead in the same Ashanti Region. 

Many have described the latest Killings as reprisal attacks by the two factions and the need to put in place measures to curb further escalation of the situation. 

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) visited the Asawase area on Saturday with a team of top security officers to get first hand information on the grounds.
