The Ghana Armed Forces has deployed over 400 military personnel to Bawku to ensure law and order.

The military high command has deployed over 400 military personnel to Bawku as tensions continue escalate in the area due to unending conflict in the area. 

This latest deployment is as result of renewed disturbances leading to the death of a number of lives. 

It first started in Asawaase in the Ashanti Region where a Kusasi Chief was shot dead by unknown persons. Few days later, two other people were killed in the Ashanti Region again which was believed to be a reprisal attacks.

On Saturday night, 3 students were killed in two different Senior High Schools. One student of the Bawku Senior High school was dragged out of his dormitory and shot dead by unknown persons in the school campus.

On the same night, two students of the Nalerigu Senior High School was also killed on campus by unknown persons.

Following these Killings, a curfew was imposed by the interior Ministry in both Nalerigu and Bawku and it's environs. 

This latest deployment of the Military is seen as a compliment to other security measures in the Bawku area.
