Edo State Road Crash: Dangote Truck Accident Claims Three Lives in Auchi
A tragic accident involving a Dangote truck and three vehicles near Omega Fire Ministry, Auchi, Edo State, has claimed three lives and left one injured. FRSC attributes the crash to brake failure.

Three people have been confirmed dead in a fatal road accident that occurred over the weekend along the Auchi–Okpella–Okene Road, near the Omega Fire Ministry Church in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The crash involved a Dangote truck and three other vehicles, including a Mercedes-Benz GLK, which was completely wrecked. Witnesses reported that the truck, heading towards Benin, suffered a brake failure and rammed into the vehicles, instantly killing three people and injuring one.
Confirming the incident, the Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Cyril Mathew, said six persons were involved in the crash. “Three people died, including two men and one woman, while one person sustained injuries. Two others escaped unhurt. Four people were in the Mercedes GLK—three lost their lives, and one was injured,” he explained.
Mathew attributed the accident to brake failure and urged truck drivers to carry out regular maintenance on their vehicles. He also cautioned against overspeeding, stressing that proper speed control gives drivers more time to manage mechanical failures safely.
