Ex-Convict's Daring Escape Foiled at Ilorin Court!

Kwara - A shocking scene took place on Tuesday at an Ilorin Area Court when an ex-convict named Segun Samuel tried to run away, reports the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
ASP Samuel Mayowa, the Prosecution Counsel who saw the incident, explained to NAN that Samuel cleverly used a broomstick to unlock the chains on his leg. He then headed to the restroom and managed to climb over the court fence.
Samuel has faced four different criminal charges in this court. One case was resolved on Monday, and he was given a one-year prison sentence. In another case, he received six months of community service. The third case was supposed to be heard today before he made his escape.
Fortunately, police officers and the prison warder responded quickly. They chased him through the court premises.
After a thorough search and with help from local residents, the escapee was found hiding in a rundown building in Oke-Suna Area, Ilorin.
A Correctional Service officer was called in to assist, and the prisoner was quickly recaptured and returned to custody.
