Gomoa East Security Task Force Hits Beaches to Secure Easter Celebrations

A high-level joint task force is now on the ground across all beach sites in the Gomoa East District to keep the public safe during this year's Easter holidays. The operation brings together personnel from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), National Security, and the Ghana Police Service in a coordinated push to maintain order.

To protect holidaymakers, the task force has enforced a total ban on smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol at all beach locations. Officials say these rules are a direct response to the high risk of drowning during festivities.

Security officers pointed out that when people get intoxicated, they lose their sense of judgment. This often leads to fatal accidents when they try to swim while impaired. By sticking to these bans, the team hopes to keep every visitor alert and out of danger.

Hon. Hassan Hamidu, the Gomoa East NADMO Director, explained that the mission is built on three main goals: Cleanliness, Protection, and Peace.

He noted that holidays often see avoidable tragedies that leave families in mourning, and the goal this year is to break 그 pattern. The deployment is not just about security; it is also about keeping the beach environment clean and preventing any form of violence before it starts.

National Security Officer Isaac Aquah also spoke on the operation, urging citizens to take their personal safety seriously. He asked beachgoers to act as the eyes and ears of the security agencies by reporting any suspicious behavior or heated arguments to officers nearby.

Mr. Aquah stressed that reporting issues early is the best way to keep small misunderstandings from turning into major security threats. The combined forces remain on high alert throughout the district to ensure the Easter celebrations stay peaceful for everyone.
