Pop icon Janet Jackson quietly married Qatari businessman and billionaire Wissam Al Mana in 2012, and the couple welcomed a son together in early 2017. But just months after their child was born, Jackson filed for divorce and according to reports, she may have walked away with up to $200 million, thanks to a carefully structured prenuptial agreement.

Sources claim the prenup guaranteed Jackson $100 million if the marriage lasted at least five years, and an additional $100 million if the couple had a child together both of which conditions were met before the split.

The reason behind their separation, as reported by close family and insiders, stemmed from a growing divide in cultural and religious expectations, as well as allegedly controlling behavior from Al Mana. Jackson’s brother, Randy, has publicly stated that his sister endured verbal abuse during the marriage, eventually leaving her feeling emotionally drained and confined.

While the couple never publicly confirmed the financial terms of the divorce, the timeline and the details outlined in the prenup have led many to speculate that Jackson’s exit from the marriage was not only emotionally freeing, but also financially strategic.

Despite the turbulence, Jackson has focused on co-parenting and rebuilding her life and career post-divorce, often sharing glimpses of her time with her young son while maintaining her signature privacy.
