Armed Bandits Kill Seven in Deadly Attack in Jangebe, Zamfara State

On Friday, July 18, 2025, a tragic attack by armed bandits in Jangebe town, Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, claimed the lives of seven individuals, including five members of the Community Protection Guard (CPG) and two civilians. According to security sources, the incident occurred in the afternoon when the CPG personnel, led by their Unit Commander, were providing assistance with agricultural activities on the outskirts of the village.

The assailants ambushed the group while they were working on a farm, fatally shooting all five CPG members. In a related incident during the same assault, two civilians—a male and a female—working on a nearby farm were also killed. The attackers further escalated the violence by seizing two pump-action rifles belonging to the CPG.
