The Association of Liberal Muslims-Ghana has expressed profound sorrow and concern over the tragic death of Chief Abdul-Malik Azenbe, who was shot and killed at his residence in Asawasi F-Line near the community center.

The association condemned the gruesome act and urged the public to remain calm, allowing security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.

In a statement released on 23rd July 2025, the association, through its director Mr. Umar Harris, expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the Kusasi fraternity, and the entire community affected by the loss.

The statement emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and refraining from hasty conclusions. "We caution against jumping to conclusions or speculating about the motives behind this tragic act. There is currently no evidence to suggest that the incident is connected to any tribal or ethnic conflict," the statement said.

The Association further urged the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies to act swiftly and professionally to bring the perpetrators to justice. It stressed that any delay in the investigation might lead to further tension and potential retaliation.

"The safety and security of every Ghanaian must remain our top priority. As we await the full investigation, we ask for the support and cooperation of all parties involved in restoring order and justice," Mr. Harris said in the statement.

While the association remains committed to the tenets of Islam and democracy, it expressed solidarity with the late chief's family, extending sympathy to all those affected by this senseless act of violence.

The statement concluded with a call for unity and respect for due process as the nation seeks answers to the horrific crime.
