Chris Brown in London Court for Alleged Nightclub Attack

R&B singer Chris Brown appeared at London's Southwark Crown Court for a plea hearing concerning an alleged bottle attack at a nightclub in February 2023.

The 36-year-old American artist previously pleaded not guilty to attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent to Abraham Diaw at Tape, a private members' club in Mayfair.

His co-defendant, US national Omololu Akinlolu, 39, also pleaded not guilty to the same charge.

Both men face an additional charge of assaulting Mr. Diaw, causing him actual bodily harm, with Brown further accused of possessing an offensive weapon (a bottle) in public.

Brown, dressed in a brown suit and red and white tie, walked past a large media presence outside the court. He is currently on conditional bail, having paid a £5 million security fee to the court as a guarantee for his return.

Despite the legal proceedings, the two-time Grammy winner has continued his international tour, including a June performance in Cardiff.

During a previous hearing at Manchester Magistrates' Court, it was heard that Mr. Diaw was allegedly struck multiple times with a bottle and then repeatedly punched and kicked at the nightclub.

Brown was arrested on May 15, 2023, at Manchester's Lowry Hotel and later released on May 21, 2023, from HMP Forest Bank. His trial is set for October.
