Kalsoume Sinare was born on April 27, 1967, in Accra, and she is the first of nine children of Zainab Sinare. She attended South Labadi Experimental School, St. Michael's International School, and Accra High School. In 1989, she was second runner-up in Miss Ghana, then represented Ghana in Miss Model of the World in Taiwan in 1990, where she emerged as Miss Model of Africa.

Rise to Stardom: Theatre & Film

Sinare made her debut in theatre with Theatre Mirrors prior to entering the film industry in 1993 with Out of Sight. Her initial major role came in Babina (2000), a supernatural thriller that made her a household name overnight.

 With a film career spanning over half a century—Trinity, Sala, Princess Tyra, and The New Sun—she has won numerous awards, including a 2017 Golden Actress award for Sala and two Ghana Movie Awards and ZAFAA nominations.

Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy

Sinare demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit by founding Farikals Productions and Farikals Salon, which caters to a celebrity clientele. She has also shown fervent community engagement in the form of donations of shoes and essentials to schoolchildren in Northern Ghana—through a humanitarian initiative supported by Coca‑Cola.

Academic Excellence

Proving that age is no barrier to growth, Sinare earned her Bachelor's in Public Service and Governance from GIMPA in 2021, graduating with Second Class Upper honors. She further attained a Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy from GIMPA in December 2023, an accomplishment celebrated with the support of her husband, Tony Baffoe, and actress Jackie Appiah.

Personal Life & Advocacy

Kalsoume married former Black Stars defender Anthony Baffoe in 1994. She and her husband have three children: Shaquille, Bouqeem, and Keishera. A devout Muslim, she has been open about balancing motherhood and a busy career, consistently crediting success to faith and family. An outspoken NDC sympathizer, she voted for ex-President John Mahama in his 2013 and 2016 elections.

Diplomatic Elevation: Spain Ambassador

President Mahama nominated Kalsoume Sinare as Ghana's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain on June 21, 2025, her inaugural diplomatic assignment. Her experience in multiple aspects of creativity, commerce, academia, and advocacy positions her best to spearhead cultural diplomacy and elevate Ghana-Spain cooperation in trade, tourism, and partnership.
