Minority in Parliament Demands Medical Council Clarify Dr. Ann Sansa Daly’s Registration Status
Ghana's Parliamentary Minority Caucus seeks urgent verification from the Medical and Dental Council on whether Dr. Ann Sansa Daly is legally licensed to practice medicine in Ghana, following her public appearances on GHOne TV.

The Minority Caucus in Ghana’s Parliament, through its Ranking Member on the Health Committee, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye (MP), has written a formal request to the Ghana Medical and Dental Council (GMDC) seeking verification of the medical registration status of Dr. Ann Sansa Daly.
The move comes after Dr. Daly gained national attention for her frequent appearances on GHOne TV, where she offers medical advice on health-related programs. Her visibility has sparked concern about whether she is duly licensed to practice medicine in Ghana, prompting Parliament to demand official clarification from the regulatory authority.
Key Issues Raised in the Parliamentary Letter:
The letter, dated May 30, 2025, asks the GMDC to provide clarity on the following:
-
Is Dr. Ann Sansa Daly currently registered and licensed to practice medicine in Ghana?
-
Has she ever been registered—either permanently or temporarily—with the GMDC?
-
Is it permissible under GMDC regulations for an unregistered individual to appear publicly as a medical doctor or offer medical advice on public platforms in Ghana?
-
A request for clarification on Dr. Daly’s registration status with any affiliated U.S. medical registration body, if applicable.
Dr. Ayew Afriye emphasized that the request is made in the public interest, to safeguard citizens from potential misinformation or unqualified medical advice. “It is imperative that all individuals offering health-related guidance meet the legal and professional standards set by the Council,” the letter noted.
Call for Urgent Response
Parliament has asked the GMDC to respond within one week of receiving the letter, underscoring the seriousness with which the Health Committee views the matter.
The development raises broader questions about media regulation, medical ethics, and public trust in the professionals featured on Ghanaian airwaves.
Public Accountability and Medical Standards
The inquiry reflects Parliament’s increasing oversight on matters of public health and the professional conduct of individuals influencing public behavior. It also highlights the responsibility of broadcasters to vet the qualifications of experts they feature on their platforms.
As of now, neither Dr. Ann Sansa Daly nor GHOne TV has publicly commented on the letter or her credentials.
