Morocco Simplifies AFCON 2025 Travel with Yalla App E-Visa for Fans

Morocco is making it easier for fans to attend the Africa Nations Cup 2025 by offering an electronic visa and Fan ID through the Yalla app. The tournament will take place from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, featuring 24 teams, including Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, host Morocco, and defending champion Ivory Coast. Visa issues have previously reduced attendance by up to 10%, potentially affecting 50,000–100,000 fans this time. Ticket sales are expected to generate 677 million MAD ($77 million), with tourism revenue reaching 1 billion MAD. CAF projects total revenue of $191 million and a profit of $112 million. This e-visa initiative also prepares Morocco for a smoother World Cup bid with Spain.

Morocco Simplifies AFCON 2025 Travel with Yalla App E-Visa for Fans

Football fans have easy access to the Africa Nations Cup 2025. The Yalla app will be a gateway to Rabat, a digital portal for fans from around the world to Africa.

Morocco announced that it will assist fans with their visa issues regarding AFCON 2025. Fans can apply for the electronic visa through the Yalla app, where they can also apply for a Fan ID.

Africa Nations Cup 2025 is scheduled from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026 in Morocco, where 24 teams will compete for the prestigious African title. Teams like Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, and host Morocco are among the big names, while defending champion Ivory Coast will be aiming to retain the title.

One of the biggest challenges for such events has been visa issues, which can reduce attendance by 8% to 10%. According to reports, 500,000 to 1 million visitors are expected, meaning a 10% reduction could result in 50,000 to 100,000 fewer fans.

In terms of revenue, ticket sales are expected to generate up to 677 million MAD ($77 million), while tourism revenue could reach up to 1 billion MAD. CAF projects a total revenue of US $191 million, with an expected profit of US $112 million.

Morocco’s announcement of the e-visa is a crucial move. After this major event, Rabat is preparing for a World Cup bid with Spain. If this process proves to be smooth, there will be no issues for fans traveling to Morocco during the World Cup.
