Wike says he will resign as FCT Minister if Amaechi is not proven guilty after a thorough forensic audit.

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has called on President Bola Tinubu to publish the forensic audit report on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). He insists the report links a former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to corruption. Wike declared he will resign if the report is released and does not implicate Amaechi.
During a broadcast on Politics Today on Channels Television in Abuja on July 4, Wike responded to Amaechi’s accusations of corruption against him. He claimed Amaechi’s wife received N4 billion monthly from the NDDC to train women in the Niger Delta.
“Amaechi’s wife was never an industrialist. That’s why I am asking the President to release the NDDC forensic audit,” Wike said.
“She got N4 billion every month to train women—that adds up to N48 billion a year. The audit report is out there. Who hid it? Malami, the former Attorney General.”
“I ask the President to show Nigerians that report. If it doesn’t back my claims, I will step down as Minister of the FCT. I am not attached to office.”
Wike stressed he was not claiming the audit is perfect but wants it made public. “Let Nigerians see the report. That’s how Amaechi’s wife became an industrialist—by taking N4 billion each month,” he said.
The FCT minister also questioned Amaechi’s university records, calling them below average. He dismissed Amaechi’s story about a senator giving him a Rolls-Royce he no longer uses. Instead, Wike accused the car of being a gift from a contractor responsible for nearly 90% of projects in Rivers State when Amaechi was governor.
