Not long after her appointment, questions about her medical qualifications surfaced. Media personality Okatakyie Afrifa claimed that Daly lacked the necessary qualifications as a medical practitioner, which attracted public investigation.

Kevin Taylor, a social commentator, responded by defending Daly, claiming she was an American practicing doctor and charging critics with trying to damage her reputation.
The matter got more serious when the Ghanaian Ministry of Health confirmed that Daly had not been formally sworn in as an NHIA board member, causing her appointment to be revoked.
This has increased the conflict between Afrifa and Taylor since Taylor attacked the decision while Afrifa expressed happiness over the revocation. The event has generated a lot of discussion on social media about public official vetting and media figure information distribution.
