Chief Justice Suspension: Alleged Viral Video Captures Thaddeus Sory And Other Judges In A Meeting

A viral video circulating on social media allegedly shows prominent Ghanaian lawyer Thaddeus Sory meeting with Justice Yoni Kulendi and Justice Asiedu at a restaurant, raising significant ethical concerns amid ongoing proceedings related to the suspended Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Gertrude Torkonoo.

In the footage, Sory appears to be engaged in conversation with the two Supreme Court justices. The video has sparked widespread public discussion, particularly due to the roles of those involved in ongoing legal matters concerning the Chief Justice.

It will be recalled that earlier reports surfaced alleging a meeting between Sory and the two justices at a restaurant. At the time, lawyer Sory denied having any such meeting, dismissing the allegations as baseless.

Critics and legal observers have raised red flags, particularly because Thaddeus Sory serves as legal counsel for one of the petitioners in the suspended Chief Justice’s case. Additionally, Justice Kulendi is a sitting judge on a case involving the Chief Justice, while Justice Asiedu is a member of the committee investigating the suspension.

Although the video is generating intense scrutiny and speculation, the authenticity of the footage has not yet been independently verified. Neither the Ghana Judicial Service nor the individuals involved have released an official statement in response to the circulating clip.

Legal analysts say the situation raises broader questions about judicial integrity, transparency, and the importance of public trust in the legal system.
