China’s Xi Jinping Urges Calm as Middle East Tensions Rise Over Israel-Iran Conflict
Chinese President Xi Jinping calls for de-escalation amid Israel-Iran conflict, stressing dialogue over military action. China pledges support for regional peace efforts.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping expressed concern about the sudden rise in tensions in the Middle East, according to China’s state news agency Xinhua.
The conflict, triggered by Israel's military actions against Iran, has raised alarm in Beijing. In his first public comment since the clashes began on Friday, Xi emphasized that China, which supports Iran diplomatically and economically, opposes any actions that threaten a country's sovereignty, security, or territorial borders.
He added that military solutions are not the way to resolve disputes, and escalating regional tensions serve no one’s interests.
Speaking with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, Xi highlighted the need for all sides to act swiftly to reduce hostility. He affirmed China's willingness to work with others to help restore peace and stability in the region.
Xi is in Astana for the second China-Central Asia Summit, where efforts are being made to promote stability and cooperation among the nations.
