Ghanta Naveen Babu may not be a familiar name to many, but if I told you he is professionally known as Nani, it would surely ring a bell. Nani is one of the biggest names in South Indian cinema, known for his comedy and romantic movies. He has worked in some of the biggest films, such as Eega (2012) with S. S. Rajamouli and Jersey, which was later remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor.

However, despite his immense success, Nani has long been associated with rom-coms. Over the years, he has been typecast in such roles. But in recent years, he has been making a conscious effort to break into the mass-action genre. Films like V and Dasara saw him taking on intense, massy roles, proving that he is more than comfortable in action-packed movies.

Not only has his acting evolved, but his look has also undergone a transformation. In V, Nani played the role of an army officer, looking sharp and commanding. In Dasara, his rugged, messy-haired look suited the character perfectly.

Now, fans eagerly await HIT: The 3rd Case, another investigative thriller following the first two installments. The film follows a determined police inspector trying to solve a series of complex cases or an unsolvable mystery.

However, when the teaser dropped on February 24th, coinciding with Nani’s 41st birthday, it took everyone by surprise. Not just Nani’s fans but cinephiles across the board were shocked to see him in a completely different kind of movie.

HIT: The 3rd Case is packed with intense action, earning it an 18+ rating for its violence. In the teaser, Nani appears in a completely new avatar, sporting long hair and a beard. This glimpse alone successfully captured the attention of mass-audience fans, as intended. It worked so well that many are now comparing and even ranking it higher than Marco, redefining the mass-action genre.

And this was just the beginning. Within a week, another bombshell dropped—The Paradise. The teaser for this film further hyped things up, promising a massive action-packed experience. The visuals suggest an intense, R-rated experience, possibly due to strong language.

While it is still too early to confirm whether the movie will officially receive an R rating for language or action, one thing is certain: Nani is heading in a new direction. Whether this transition will be successful remains to be seen, but it’s clear that he is making a bold promise to mass-audience fans. Get ready for Nani’s transformation!
