High Court Acquits Former MCE Nominee
A high Court in Kumasi has acqited and discharged President Akufo-Addo's former nominee for the position of MCE for Juanben Municipal Assembly in 2021.

A high Court in Kumasi has acqited and discharged President Akufo-Addo's former nominee for the position of MCE for Juanben Municipal Assembly in 2021.
Mr Sarfo Kantanka was accused of bribing assembly members of the Juaben Assembly members to approve his nomination after he was appointed as MCE by President Akufo-Addo in 2021.
In November 2021,the Special prosecuter commenced investigations in to the case. On 24th May 2022, Mr. Sarfo Kantanka was charged by the OSP.
But, he pleaded not guilty as he was accused on 26 counts. On 13th July 2023, the OSP closes its case as the accused files submission of no case.
Today in Court, the presiding judge, justice Prisillla Dikro Ofori acquited and discharged Mr. Sarfo Kantanka which means, the OSP case has lost the case.
The reason for the judgement according to the judge is that, the video provided does not prove that, the accused gave such monies to influence the assembly members.
