Julian McMahon, the charismatic Australian actor best known for his leading role on the groundbreaking FX drama Nip/Tuck and for portraying the villainous Dr. Victor Von Doom in the 2000s Fantastic Four movies, has died at the age of 56.

Born in Sydney in 1968, Julian McMahon was the son of former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon. After early stints in modeling and Australian television, he gained international recognition as Cole Turner on the hit supernatural series Charmed before landing his iconic role as Dr. Christian Troy on FX’s Nip/Tuck.

Premiering in 2003, Nip/Tuck was a boundary-pushing drama about two Miami plastic surgeons whose complicated personal and professional lives captivated audiences for six seasons.
