Mahama To Unveil " No Fees Stress Policy" Today
The president is on a working visit to the Eastern Region to access programs being rolled out by Municipal heads and also hold dialogue with key stakeholders in the educational sector

President John Dramani Mahama is currently in the Eastern Region today, Friday, July 4, 2025, with activities centred in the regional capital, Koforidua, particularly within the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly.
President John Dramani Mahama will be unveiling the ‘No Fees Stress’ tertiary education initiative at the SDA College of Education in Asokore.
The trip also forms part of the President’s nationwide working tour seeking to inspect and evaluate key government policies, notably the free first-term tertiary education policy—a flagship initiative of the Mahama-led government.
Government sources mention that the president will meet local stakeholders, including educational institutions and student audiences, to check the effectiveness of the policy’s implementation. The policy, introduced to fulfil an essential campaign promise, is planned to lessen the monetary load on first-year tertiary students and enhanced access to higher education across Ghana.
While in Koforidua, President Mahama is also anticipated to hold conversations with municipal heads and education sector officials to solicit feedback and identify any operational challenges affecting the rollout.
Today’s visit underscores the government’s continuing efforts to propel accountability and ensure that key social intervention programs are reaching their targeted beneficiaries.
