OSP invites Paul Adom-Otchere over GACL corruption probe

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially invited journalist and former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, for questioning in connection with a corruption investigation involving a revenue assurance audit contract.

In a letter dated 25th July 2025, the OSP named Adom-Otchere as a suspect in its ongoing probe into alleged corruption and corruption-related offences linked to a contract between GACL and a private firm. The contract, awarded during his tenure as board chairman, is under scrutiny for possible procurement breaches.

The OSP has directed Adom-Otchere to appear before investigators at its South Ridge office in Accra on Thursday, 31st July 2025.

Granting an interview to some media outlets, Paul Adom-Otchere confirmed that he has received the invitation from the Special Prosecutor. He stated that his legal team has already responded to the OSP, requesting a new date for the engagement.

“My lawyers have written to the OSP requesting a rescheduling to Monday, 4th August, because they are currently handling court proceedings in Kumasi,” he explained.

The investigation forms part of the OSP’s broader mandate to tackle corruption in public institutions, particularly regarding transparency in public procurement and contract management. While Adom-Otchere has yet to be formally charged, his designation as a suspect indicates that the office believes he may have information critical to the case.

The revenue assurance contract in question is said to have raised concerns about due process and value for money, though further details have not yet been made public.

The OSP is expected to announce further developments after Adom-Otchere honours the invitation. He has pledged to cooperate fully with the investigation once his legal team is available.
